$17 - $19 an hour - Full Time
Responsible for grinding, sanding, and polishing objects made of metal. Uses cloth, hand tools, and power tools to ensure a smooth surface. Inspects for imperfections, to include flaws and pitting. This is a great role for someone who seeks long-term growth opportunities.
Job Responsibilities
- Grind, sand and polish steel frames while holding tight tolerances
- Finish surfaces using prescribed equipment, grinding wheels and hand tools
- Inspect and measure to ensure specifications are met
- Determine whether machine adjustments are necessary and troubleshoot machines when necessary
- Set up and operate grinding or polishing machines
- Prepare surface for further finishes
- Correct defects
- Mark imperfections for repair
- Clean equipment and work tables
- Load or remove workpieces from work tables
- Maintain equipment
Job Requirements
- 1+ years of grinder experience required including set up and operation
- Knowledge of machines and tools
- Ability to understand and follow safety procedures and protocols
- Team oriented work ethic
